I’ve had a ridiculously long 12 hour day so this blog entry is going to be rather basic I'm afraid
My time table today was:
9:15-9:50 Remove the pyjamas off the paintings and clean the windows. (I shall explain the PJ’s at a later date and maybe take a photo)
9:50-11 PC2 - where I got to play with the walkie-talkies and say “Taxi in arrivo!”)
11-12 PC3&4 – where I had to make sure no one touched the very fragile Giaccometti
(I had a 15 minutes break at 11:30 where Holly covered me and I went and had a cappuccino with Anastasia)
12-1 Mattioli – which was my favourite room and have decided that I am going to aim to know all of the artists and their works in that room such as Carra, Boccioni, Balla, Severini and other Italian Futurists. I would like to get the 'Ask Me About the Art’ badge for this J
And I would like to do my 10mins talk to the public on Boccioni’s ‘Unique Form of Continuity in Space’ (1913). Google it for now and I'll give you more details tomorrow.
1-2 TES 1 – I got to play with the people counter clicky thing which I enjoyed J (121 people when I was there)
Lunch I had with Anastasia, Ellen, Lola and Eric (I had a chicken sandwich)
At 3:00 I had to go to the shop and get any supplies they needed and stock up. The shop lady is such a moody little so and so! she served me when I brought something from the Guggenheim last week and she was rude then so I don’t know why I was expecting her to change!
The guy who works in the shop outside of the museum where I had to go to stock up was lovely so that was nice
4-4:15 TES 4 Then I had to cover Codess 1 (Atonella) for her 15 min where I spoke to Codess 2 (Valeria) who is from Romania and was very nice to talk to
4:15-4:30 TES 5 Covering for Holly in the annoying room where there’s a tape on a loop saying “Zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero,....” which I hated and I’m starting there tomorrow!
4:30 I was in the study base with some other interns who were also floating in the afternoon and I spent the whole time talking to Rosa about the American TV shows that we watch
5:50-6:05 Shoo everyone out of the museum
6:06-9:15 Talk by Dario Tinton which was so good but very long. I shall explain more tomorrow
9:15-9:25 Put the paintings into their pyjamas
BED!!!
(I will reveal the mystery behind the codes tomorrow when I put up my schedule. I like to give you something to look forward to!)
