So today I had to get up at stupid o'clock on go on a five hour bus journey to the beautiful medieval city of Lucca! We all fell asleep on the journey there because we are such hardworking interns!
We had a tour of the collection but unfortunately he was telling us about Peggy's life and how she obtained the collection which is what we have to tell people on a daily basis so we weren't that interested. We were actually the worst museum visitors! We were taking pictures (which weren't allowed), eating, talking during the tour, being loud etc. But it was our day off so I think we were allowed to be a little rebellious!
It was amazing to see the other half of Peggy's collection and we were very grateful that we had this chance to see them. I bought myself a beautiful catalogue with all of the works in and some very nice photos of Miss Guggenheim.
We then went for lunch and very much enjoyed paying Tuscany prices for food instead of the extortionate prices we pay in Venice! Then we bought some gelato and wondered around Lucca taking silly pictures of ourselves :D
We were only in Lucca for four hours so we didn't get to see that much of it but I would love to go back and explore sometime.
At 5 o'clock we jumped back on the bus for another five hours and we were wide awake so we decided to sing allllllll the way home. We had to sing songs that had reached all home continents of the interns so it was mostly the Spice Girls and Queen but it was very fun! It reminded me of going on school trips!
Someone has suggested that we all go to the karaoke bar in Venice but after hearing us all sing I really don't think that that is a good idea.
